Over the years, I have come to accept that one the best ways forward is to keep things simple.
However, simple is not to be confused with easy. These two are diametrically opposed to each other. Shutting out all the noise, ignoring ditractors and focusing on the goal takes a lot of work.
In the process, you will win some and lose some. But the main win for me will be the outcome of sticking to the right path regardless. And that path will be lonely. It may be filled with potholes and fraught with danger.
But there will be a few brave souls walking along the same path. Those I will break bread with and grow with. For legacy is worth more than the temporary accolades found in the comfort zone.
So, as I dip both my feet into the foreseeable future, these three friends will I tag along with me:
- Conviction – my why, my belief and my stand are unquestionable
- Commitment – what I say, what I do and how I behave are in harmony
- Communication – provide clarity to self and others of my action, direction and status
My focus is on how well I continuously become a better man. Not titles. Not being liked. But to be loved as a human who cares.
When you chose to align these three friends, and consistently commune with them, you will be unstoppable. At home, at work in community…
